UPDATE: Christopher Poore was convicted for the attack and home invasion. However, he was paroled on August 14, 2023.
UPDATE NOVEMBER 10, 2016: Chris Poore was arrested in October 2016 for a home invasion and brutal attack on a 17-year-old girl. Thank you, Polly, for the heads up!
I came across this case on Facebook and decided to post it here because the person who is clearly responsible has not been arrested for a crime due to lack of evidence. Still, it’s irritating.
Tabitha Lynn Franklin, 28, was a victim of domestic violence, survivor of sexual abuse, loving mother of three children, and a missing person.
Tabitha was last seen on August 13, 2009, in Cullman, Alabama, at the home of Keith Floyd, with whom she had been staying at the time. Her boyfriend, Christopher Poore, claimed he gave her a ride from Floyd’s house to his workplace and then left to run errands.
Tabitha has never been seen again.
Poore had beat the shit out of Tabitha before her disappearance, leaving her with two black eyes. Her sister documented the abuse with pictures. When Poore discovered Tabitha had gone to the police, he threatened to harm her children if she didn’t get the law to back off. Because of his threats, Tabitha maintained minimal contact with him.
Before the beating, Poore had choked Tabitha to the point where she passed out. Afterward, she told her sister she feared Poore would kill her one day.
The young woman disappeared shortly after telling her sister her fears.
Tabitha’s family found out that Poore had previously spent five years in jail for assaulting a police officer, and they are convinced that he killed Tabitha.
But the police have been as useless as a man walking into a whorehouse without money. The department claims there is no proof a crime has been committed, even though Tabitha disappeared without a trace, and Poore had a history with the department for abusing her.
Regardless, in 2014, police began digging on the grounds of Keith Floyd’s home but found no evidence. Floyd has been arrested numerous times on drug charges, including during the search when police found drugs on his property.
After Tabitha disappeared, Poore sold his car and left town. Poore and Floyd are not considered suspects in Tabitha’s case.

True Crime Diva’s Thoughts
This case is a no-brainer, in my opinion. I think Poore killed Tabitha, and maybe he had some help from Floyd, maybe not. Even though both are the last two people to see Tabitha alive, AND Poore has a history of violence against her, they are not considered suspects. Why is that, I wonder? Friends in law enforcement?
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Poore sold his car and left town right after Tabitha disappeared. We know why he did both. He sold the car so LE could not process the car for evidence, and he left town out of fear he was going to be arrested. Coward. If you hurt a woman, then at least be MAN enough to take responsibility for it. But let’s face it. He’s not a man, just a vermin who is allowed to walk the streets.
Some say that Floyd was the one who killed Tabitha, and Poore helped cover it up. Floyd drugged and raped females, according to the rumor mill. However, I could find nothing regarding this. I mentioned it because it could be true; I couldn’t find anything on it.
But Poore makes a better suspect because he had already harmed Tabitha before she went missing, and she believed he would kill her. Maybe she didn’t back off with the police as he demanded, so he killed her to keep her quiet. Hmm, let’s see. I don’t want to go to jail for beating a woman, so hell yeah, I’ll murder her. Makes sense. SMH.
Believe it or not (haha), there is actually a female out there ignorant enough to be with Poore after Tabitha went missing. Girl, you better hope the same doesn’t happen to you!
I hope Tabitha gets justice someday. Her killer needs to be off the streets and sitting in prison, being someone’s bitch. 😀
