HARTFORD, Conn. — Shortly before Christmas on Dec. 21, 2012, father of three, Kyle Seidel, 34, called in an order at 7:49 pm to Lucky Inn Chinese restaurant, 40 Boston Post Rd. in Waterford. He left shortly after to pick it up.
Seidel never arrived at the restaurant.
Strangely, at 8:19 pm, Seidel was found lying in a blood pool in the parking lot of Waterford Family Bowl, 120 Boston Post Rd., a half-mile from the Chinese restaurant. He had been shot once in the neck (early reports say chest). His black Ford Focus was still running, and the driver’s door was open.
Paramedics transported Seidel to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, and he was later pronounced dead.
Three days after Seidel’s death, the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide.
Seidel’s wife, Kate Seidel, does not know why her husband was in that parking lot. He never went to the bowling alley. The police believe his death was a result of road rage.
The case remains unsolved, and police have exhausted all leads. There is a $25,000 reward for information regarding Seidel’s murder.
