Where is Vikki Vukelich? Mother Missing Since 1991

Vikki Cihon Vukelich, 32, was last seen on Feb. 23, 1991, by her husband, David Vukelich, in their home at 508 Tulip Drive in Glenwood, Illinois.

The couple met at a bowling alley and married in 1986. The marriage produced a daughter, Ashley. Vikki has another daughter, Jill, from a previous relationship.

The marriage was rocky from the get-go, which led to Vikki obtaining a restraining order against her husband in 1988. But in November 1990, David accused his wife of biting and hitting him, followed by a police officer accusing Vikki of resisting arrest. That led to a warrant for her arrest post-disappearance.

Vikki ran a hair salon, Hair Designs by Vikki. Jill was 12 years old when her mother vanished.

On the night of her disappearance, Vikki returned home from work at 9 p.m. Her husband wanted to attend a party, but she was tired from a long day at the salon. Jill said her mother put her and her sister to bed, but she awoke to the sounds of her mother and stepfather arguing.

Jill awoke a second time and found her stepfather in the living room. She assumed her mother was sleeping in the basement as she sometimes did. However, her mother had disappeared by morning.

David never reported his wife missing – Vikki’s close friend, Mary Prskalo, did a few days later when she learned that all of Vikki’s belongings were still in the home. However, as Mary was not a family member, Glenwood police officers had David fill out the missing person report.

When investigators questioned David, he said he went to bed at 10:00 p.m., after his wife had left the house on foot and walked toward the highway, Dateline reported

Witnesses told investigators they saw figures sitting in a car at the Vukelich home on Feb. 23, 1991, and heard a woman screaming, “Help me, please help me!”

Years later, neighbors said they heard terrible screams coming from the home, then silence. However, Jill never mentioned hearing these screams.

Interestingly, David removed the carpeting in the home, did cement work in his driveway after his wife’s disappearance, and sold the house afterward. He and Ashley relocated elsewhere in Illinois. That’s not suspicious.

And if all of that isn’t bad enough, David filed for divorce two months after his wife’s disappearance. He’s a piece of shit.

Although David is considered a suspect, he has never been charged with Vikki’s disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.

In 2003, FBI agents and local police excavated portions of the family’s old home searching for clues in the concrete and dirt. Police never revealed the results from the search, if any.

Later that same year, authorities exhumed the body of Mary “Susie” Jonker-Vukelich, David’s second wife, who reportedly died of breast cancer in 1994, to see if foul play was involved. However, police filed no charges in her death.

David has never cooperated with police regarding his first wife’s disappearance, and they claim they cannot force him to the police station for questioning. M’kay. He currently lives in Washington State with his woman, Margaret Laycock. I wonder if she knows her man is a killer. 🤔

Ashley Vukelich Doolin lives in Indiana with her husband and children. She is now in her 30s.

Interesting. I wondered about foul play when I read about her death. This is almost a classic Drew Peterson case. Instead of divorce, he killed them. So sad. I feel for you and your family! Thank you so much for commenting!

His second wife was my aunt. She has been gone for 18 years. Our whole family believed there was foul play in my aunts death because her cancer was in remission. Coming from a medical family of nurses and doctors an autopsy was requested but david denied us one. There is no doubt in our mind that he was responsible for her death.

I think David is definitely guilty and also murdered his 2nd wife. He is a sadistic narcissist and should be considered dangerous. He preys on women via the internet, in particular dating websites. He is a predator and killer and hopefully will rot in hell!
