Carol Rofstad was murdered on the Illinois State University campus in Normal, Illinois in 1975. Her case has never been solved.

About the Case

Carol Rofstad21-year-old Elk Grove, Illinois native, Carol Rofstad was attending college at Illinois State University (ISU) in December 1975.

On December 23rd, the college was out for Christmas break, but Carol stayed behind to work at a retail store. Around noon that day, Carol was found beaten and unconscious outside her sorority house at 602 S. Fell Avenue. An 18-inch railroad tie was found nearby. Carol had been laying there for about 12 hours before she was found. Money was discovered in her purse and there was no evidence of sexual assault. read more

Michelle Norris: Murdered in 1988; Case still unsolved

Michelle NorrisOn May 26, 1988, seven-year-old Michelle Norris left home with her brothers and cousins to walk to a park located behind Capt. G. Harold Hunt Elementary School in Central Falls, Rhode Island, where she attended first grade. The group was going to play a game of hide and seek.

At some point during her time at the park, Michelle vanished.

Gail Miles: Who killed the 61-year-old retired police officer?

Gail Miles, 61, was a retired Watertown, Massachusetts police officer, having worked for the department from 1984 until her retirement in 2004. When she was hired, Gail was the first black police officer and only the second female officer at Watertown Police Department (WPD).

Throughout her 20 years of service, Gail endured severe sexual harassment and racism by male officers in the department. Gail documented all of it in personal journals, and even sued the police department in 2000. read more

On December 28, 2010, 13-year-old Hailey Dunn of Colorado City, Texas was reported missing by her mother when she failed to return home. Her stepfather, Shawn Adkins, told police that on December 27th, Hailey told him she was going to her father’s home and then on to stay the night at a friend’s house. Police later learned that Hailey did neither. read more

Dan Markel: Who killed the prominent Florida law professor?

Dan MarkelOn the morning of July 18, 2014, 42-year-old Florida State University law professor, Dan Markel pulled into his driveway in Tallahassee, Florida as he was talking on his cell phone. He told the person he was talking with that someone was standing in his driveway.
