Hailey Dunn: Who killed 13-year-old in 2010?

HAILEY DUNNYesterday marked the five-year anniversary of the disappearance of Hailey Dunn. I thought it only appropriate to write about her case.

On December 28, 2010, 13-year-old Hailey Dunn of Colorado City, Texas was reported missing by her mother when she failed to return home. Her stepfather, Shawn Adkins, told police that on December 27th, Hailey told him she was going to her father’s home and then on to stay the night at a friend’s house. Police later learned that Hailey did neither.

Covered-Up Murder: Justice For Sandra Bland

WARNING: FOUL LANGUAGE.

I’m pissed so there is going to be cussing involved. Just thought I’d warn ya ahead of time. 😉

I normally don’t write posts about current events or cases. But this one has gotten me all riled up! I am so angry for the OBVIOUS murder of a promising young, BEAUTIFUL woman.

I hate cover-ups. I really fucking do. And this is one of the worst ones to date, in my opinion. I am so tired of all of the racial killings going on in our country. This isn’t the fucking 1800s! Texas, you need to GET OVER THAT!

Elisa Lam and the Cecil Hotel

Early 2013, I was completely away from this blog and I actually had taken it down. So, I didn’t spend time paying attention to news stories or new cases because I was focused on helping our teenage son. Therefore, I never heard about this case until now.  I’m sure all of you have! But let me just say, WTH?

21-year-old Canadian resident, Elisa Lam was traveling the U.S. when she landed in Los Angeles, California on January 29, 2013. Prior to arriving in L.A., Elisa had visited San Diego. In L.A., she stayed at the 600-room Cecil Hotel downtown near Skid Row.This hotel was built in 1927 for business travelers, but from the 1950s and on, it has housed mostly transients.

Molly Marie Young

On March 24, 2012, Molly Marie Young, 21, was found shot to death in her former  boyfriend’s apartment in the 500 block of North Westridge Drive in Carbondale, IL. Richie Minton, who had been heavily drinking, called Molly around 3:00 a.m. insisting he needed Molly’s help. Molly, herself, had not been drinking.

Sometime after Molly arrived at the apartment, she was shot in the head. The handgun, a .45 semiautomatic 1911 used in the killing just happened to be owned by none other than Minton himself.

The Suspicious Death of Alfred Wright

Warning! Super long post!

When I hear the town name Jasper, and it just happens to be in Texas, I immediately think of James Byrd, Jr. I’m sure you do, too. On June 7, 1998, one of the worst cases of racial crimes occurred here. James Byrd, Jr. age 48, was dragged for three miles behind a pick-up truck on an asphalt road. He remained conscious throughout most of the terrifying ordeal and was killed when his body hit the edge of a culvert, severing his head and right arm. The murderers – Shawn Berry, Lawrence Russell Brewer, and John King – then drove on for another mile before dumping his torso in front of an African-American cemetary. The horrific crime shocked the nation.

No Justice Yet for Melissa Platt

Melissa PlattOn October 3rd, 2008, 31-year-old Melissa Platt was brutally beaten and left wrapped in a blanket at her North Carolina home until October 8th when her mother, feeling that something was not right, called police to do a welfare check on her daughter. When they found Melissa, she was immediately life-flighted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital where she underwent an immediate craniotomy. She suffered severe bruising all over her body, her jaw was broken on both sides and there were strangulation marks on her neck. On top of all that, her brain was bleeding and she had developed a blood clot.

Melissa had been fighting for her life all alone for days before help came.

She remained in ICU until December 17th when she passed away from her injuries.

Now here is where the injustice part comes in. Her boyfriend had changed his stories numerous times and he was never charged with her murder. He claimed she sustained these injuries from a fall in the bathroom.
