Robin Abrams: Missing since 1990

My loyal readers know how I feel about police/government cover-ups. I hate them. And when those said cover-ups involve the disappearance or murder of INNOCENT people, my blood boils. Because if you can’t “serve and protect”, then GTFO!

When I get the chance to write about these type of cases, I jump at it.  Why? Because they are absolutely ridiculous. This next case is a perfect example of a police cover-up.  read more

On July 1, 1998, seventeen-year-old Teresa Reyes disappeared from her parents apartment in Albuquerque, New Mexico sometime after 11:00 p.m. and has never been found.

Earlier that evening, Teresa, or Terry as she was known to friends and family, was hanging out with her cousin, Tyfanni Sedillo. The girls stopped at a gas station to use the payphone. While there, five guys in a cream-colored van, 20-21 years old, approached the girls, asking them if they wanted to go to a party. These guys were later described by Terry’s friend as being “Mexican-gang type”, heads shaved, and wearing baggy pants. read more

NM Police Corruption Series: The Murder of Paul Adam Fitzjerell

This is the second to last post I am writing on police corruption in New Mexico.

At 5:00 pm on November 19, 1997, Gallup, New Mexico resident Paul Adam Fitzjerrell, 25, was closing up for the day at B & F Used Cars, a family owned business he managed. His longtime friend, Gallup Police Officer Mike Brandau suggested they go to a neighborhood bar to shoot pool. read more

NM Police Corruption Series: The Murder of Kaitlyn Arquette

On July 16, 1989, 18-year-old Albuquerque, New Mexico resident Kaitlyn Arquette was shot to death in her car. The police called it a random drive-by shooting, but there was nothing random about it. Kaitlyn was targeted.

On that deadly night, Kaitlyn stopped by her parent’s house around 6:00 pm on her way to the home of new friend, Sharon Smith, who ran a snow cone business in front of Pier One Imports where Kaitlyn worked. Sharon had invited Kaitlyn over for dinner and gave her directions on how to get to Sharon’s home. read more

New Mexico Police Corruption Series: APD Officer Matt Griffin aka The Ninja Bandit Part 3

I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again – I HATE POLICE CORRUPTION.

While researching a couple of New Mexico cases, I discovered significant amount of corruption and cover-ups in the Albuquerque New Mexico police department, beginning at least 30 years ago and may be currently going on as I write this. Many victims of homicide have never received justice because their killers were protected. In addition, several people turned up missing during this reign of crap and certain officers within the APD are either responsible OR know who is and refused to do their jobs as cops. The latter is partly true for the fact that some of these cops were into the drug trafficking business and protected the perpetrators. read more

Because of what I learned, I am currently writing a series of posts about corrupt cases that occurred in New Mexico. I started with Linda Daniels. There are so many victims who were betrayed by the people who were supposed to serve and protect them that it is just ridiculous.

While the majority of posts will be cases out of Albuquerque, I will have some from other areas of New Mexico. read more
