The 1988 Strawberry Trail Fire

This post is a little different from what I normally write. This case is officially solved, but I was asked by a Twitter follower of mine to write about it. Once I started researching it, I knew I wanted it on this blog. Thank you, Kathyann for suggesting this case!

The Strawberry Trail Fire, Dallas Texas, 1988

In the early morning hours of September 28, 1988, a fire broke out in a four-bedroom home on Strawberry Trail in Dallas, Texas. By the time fire fighters arrived, five children were dead; one survived. As the investigation began, law enforcement quickly realized this was not an accidental fire but an act of arson. Years would go by before suspects emerged.

Jonathan Edward Hagans: Missing from Florida since 1968

Three-year-old Jonathan Edward Hagans disappeared June 11, 1968 while at the beach with his family. He has never been found.

On June 11, 1968, the Hagans family, Joe and Marjean Hagans and their three children, including three-year-old Jonathan, decided to spend the warm summer day at the beach in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. At some point, Jonathan disappeared. Witnesses claimed they saw him following behind Joe as Joe walked towards a snack bar area.

Corrie McKeague: Missing from England since September 2016

Corrie McKeague vanished without a trace after walking behind a bakery on September 24, 2016 in Bury St. Edmunds, England. He has not been seen since.

On September 23, 2016, Corrie McKeague, 23, from Fife, Scotland and a Senior Aircraftman in RAF Regiment’s 2 Squadron stationed at RAF Honington in England, drove from his base to Bury St. Edmunds for a night out on the town.

Tammy Lynds: Teen’s 1994 Death Still a Mystery

Tammy Marie Lynds disappeared from her home on July 21, 1994. Her body was found almost four months later. Cause of death could not be determined due to decomposition.

On the night of July 21, 1994, 15-year-old Tammy Marie Lynds seemed nervous and afraid. She planned on sneaking out of her house to go see a friend or possible boyfriend, and informed her 10-year-old sister, Allison, she was dreading the encounter.

Kacey Ann Perry: 10-year-old disappeared in 1990

Kacey Ann Perry disappeared from Portland, Oregon on September 14, 1990. She has not been seen since.

About the Case

Kacey Ann PerryOn September 14, 1990, 10-year-old Kacey Ann Perry was visiting her father in Portland, Oregon. Kacey’s mother and father never married and their relationship did not last long. Her mother had legal custody of her.

At some point that night, the two got into a heated argument over Kacey living with her father. He told Kacey she must live with him instead of her mother or she would not be allowed to visit him anymore. He believed her mother was not taking proper care of Kacey.
